Investors Showcase at VR World Congress

The Investor Showcase at VR World Congress will host 10 Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality focussed companies pitching for investments of anywhere from £25k and up to £2m.

There was an unprecedented amount of applications to take part in this event, with 74 applications from 19 different countries worldwide, looking for £53m between them.

While there were some brilliant applications, and it was a tough job to narrow them down, the finalists that have been chosen to pitch on the day have been through a 2 stage selection process to ensure that the most currently investible are presented on the day.

Atom UniverseA cross-platform Virtual world, allowing playstation, PC and VR users to play together.

theConstructA platform that allows Architects and Architecture Visualization Studios to create so called VR Tours in a matter of minutes.

TiledmediaEnables high quality streaming of VR360 (spherical) video over today’s networks

VirtimedImmersive, augmented and 360 video healthcare training and assessments experiences to improve patient safety and skill acquisition in the medical world.

GeekzoniaA limitless comic con in virtual reality, allowing tens of thousands of people to connect, socialise, attend talks and discuss their favourite movies, shows and games from across geek culture.

Spherica – Spherica is  a VR LAB who have a hardware solution for cinematic VR, working on techniques of perfectly stabilising the camera to avoid viewer discomfort.

Invirt Reality LimitedA VR Airline Cabin Crew Trainer, used to train crew procedures, without the need for a physical aircraft or expensive cabin mock-ups.

HumainDeveloping the world’s best automated online character creation service for the gaming, animation and VR markets.

Wizdish Ltd.A virtual reality treadmill, holding global patents and rapidly acquiring corporate customers.

Generic Robotics Ltd.Specialists in haptic technology, Generic robotics have produced a universal clinical skills simulator for dental, medical and surgical training.

 

These 10 will have 5 minutes to pitch before having questions put to them by an experienced panel including Mike Hayes, Investment Director at Mercia Technologies plc, which recently invested £2m in nDreams, the largest UK software developer focussed solely on VR interactive entertainment.

Headlined by top legal firm TLT and held at Bristol Energy Hub’s great waterside space in the centre of the VRWC activity, the event will take place in two sessions from 11am to 2pm.

Investors attending will also be able to take advantage of a full free day pass to the conference to see the exhibition and talks after the Investor Showcase.
